About Me
I’m Nancy Marsh, a qualified and experienced therapist offering online support to adults around the world. I’ve worked across a range of settings in the UK and Asia, including rehabilitation services, community mental health, and forensic environments. Over the years, I’ve supported people struggling with addiction, trauma, emotional dysregulation, low self-worth, and complex shame.
I hold a Master of Science in Forensic Psychology and a postgraduate qualification in counselling. I am a registered member of the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) and the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), and I work in line with their ethical standards and professional development requirements. I am also trained in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) and registered with the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT).

What matters most to me in my work is the quality of the relationship I create with the people I support. Many of my clients come into therapy feeling judged, not good enough, misunderstood, or “too much.” My aim is to create a space where you can slow down, drop the mask, and explore what is really happening beneath your coping strategies.

My primary therapeutic model is Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT). This approach focuses on understanding the emotional patterns that drive your thoughts, reactions, and behaviours, including people-pleasing, avoidance, self-criticism, and substance use. Rather than trying to simply “fix” your thinking, I help you build a safer relationship with your emotions and develop greater self-compassion. From there, it becomes easier to make choices based on who you truly are, not who you think you have to be. I was drawn to this model because of personal experience trying to force changes to myself or my life and feeling disappointed when I persistently fell back into old patterns without understanding why. Undertaking personal emotionally focused therapy and understanding how I was influenced by underlying emotions helped me to feel and live differently.

I draw on mindfulness and cognitive or behavioural modalities when helpful, but my approach is first and foremost relational, emotionally-focused, and tailored to you. My work isn’t highly manual-based or rigidly structured, but it is grounded in sound research and evidence. I currently offer online sessions only which allows me to work with people worldwide.

Outside of my work, you'll find me at the beach with my dog, or reading bad, trashy crime novels.
