About Me
I’m Nancy Marsh, a qualified and experienced therapist offering online support to adults around the world. I’ve worked across a range of settings in the UK and Asia, including rehabilitation services, community mental health, and forensic environments. Over the years, I’ve supported people struggling with addiction, trauma, emotional dysregulation, low self-worth, and complex shame, often in individuals who appeared to be “functioning” on the outside, but were suffering privately inside.
I hold formal training in psychology and counselling, including a Master of Science in Forensic Psychology and a postgraduate qualification in counselling. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), and the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS), and I work in line with their ethical standards and ongoing professional development requirements. I am also trained in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) and registered with the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT).

What matters most to me in my work is the quality of the relationship I create with the people I support. Many of my clients come into therapy feeling judged, misunderstood, or “too much.” My aim is to create a space where you can slow down, drop the mask, and explore what is really happening beneath your coping strategies.

My primary therapeutic model is Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT). This approach focuses on understanding the emotional patterns that drive your thoughts, reactions, and behaviours, including people-pleasing, avoidance, self-criticism, and substance use. Rather than trying to simply “fix” your thinking, I help you build a safer relationship with your emotions, develop greater self-compassion, and feel more able to make choices based on who you truly are, not who you think you have to be.

I also draw on mindfulness and attachment-based ideas when helpful, but my work is first and foremost relational, emotionally-focused, and tailored to you. I am not a highly structured or manual-based therapist, and I am best suited to people who are open to a deeper, more reflective process.

I currently offer online sessions only and primarily work with adult clients based in Australia, Singapore, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and other parts of the world.

I am a member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) and work in accordance with their ethical standards.
